Estimated Lead Times

Most items are made to order and have a lead time, we ask for patience while we complete your items. They may arrive slightly earlier or later depending on current volume. Please do not call or email for status updates before the lead time has elapsed. We will reach out if any delays are expected. Thank you for your understanding!

Ordering Advice

We want to provide you with an item you’re happy with so here’s some advice that will help you with ordering.

  • If you have questions or concerns, reach out to us. We’d rather get you the info you need before you order! We’re happy to give advice or talk shop. Calling, texting or emailing is the best way to get in touch with us. Messaging through our social media is much slower.
  • If you need to make a change or correction to your order please send us an email with your order number and what needs to be changed. This must be done before the order is marked In Progress.
  • Please read the Measurements section of this site and double check your size info before you order. If you make a mistake, send us an email and we’ll get the order fixed. If the measurements you provide us are unusually small or large, we’ll email you to confirm they are correct. Unfortunately, we can’t help if you order the wrong size, only if we make it the wrong size.
  • We don’t second-guess customer picks for leather, thread or paint color combinations; we make it exactly as ordered. However, we’re happy to provide our opinion if asked for advice. If you make a mistake, let us know by email ASAP and we’ll fix the order.
  • With stamping, we recommend keeping it pretty simple. A ton of stamping can look awkward and may not fit if space is limited. If it won’t fit, we’ll reach out to you. On items like Truck Belts, having a lot of stamping may cause it to be partially covered by your attachments. Obviously, a shorter strap or belt will comfortably fit less stamping compared to a longer one.
  • Most items are offered in two leather types: our standard harness and traditional latigo leather. Both are top-quality leathers but the traditional latigo is ultra-resistant to hard use. The downside is while we can stamp it, we can’t paint it. It just won’t adhere well. If you want ultimate utility, go latigo. If painting is important to you, go harness.
  • You shouldn’t select paint colors that match your leather color, the paint won’t show up. For example: black paint on black leather, brown paint on brown leather, etc. Also, selecting the same color for both body and outlining paint tends to look off. If you want both the body and outline painted, we recommend doing different, contrasting colors. You don’t need to do both; you can have just the body or just the outline painted.
  • We can’t be responsible for incorrectly entered shipping addresses or stolen packages. Tracking is provided on every order. All orders are insured up to $100 and extra insurance is available on checkout if desired. We generally don’t recommend having your order shipped directly to your firehouse. While it’s usually fine, we’ve had multiple orders ‘disappear’ after delivery.
  • Once orders are In Progress, Shipped or Ready for Pickup, we can’t do cancellations or refunds. Orders over $50 that are cancelled will have the credit card processing fees deducted from the refund.

Our ordering process is straight forward. You’ll receive emails when you order, when your order is picked/started by a leathersmith and when your order ships. If you do not receive an email after ordering, let us know so we can double check your email address.
