Estimated Lead Times

Most items are made to order and have a lead time. We ask for your patience while we complete your gear. The majority of orders are completed within the listed times. If your order is expected to exceed that window, we will contact you directly.

You will receive an Order Confirmation, followed by an Added to Queue email once we review the details. After that, your order will remain in our production queue until it reaches the bench, at which point you may receive additional updates depending on the item. Thank you for your understanding and support!

Shop Policies

  • FEEL FREE TO ASK: If you have questions or concerns, reach out to us. We’d rather get you the info you need before you order! Calling, texting or emailing is the best way to get in touch with us. Messaging through our social media is much slower.
  • EMAIL US ANY CORRECTIONS: If you need to make a change or correction to your order please send us an email with your order number and what needs to be changed. This must be done before the order is marked In Progress.
  • ESTIMATED LEAD TIMES ARE AN ESTIMATE: We do our best to give you a close estimate to when we’ll be able to work on your order but it’s an estimate. Sometimes we get big spikes in orders or everyone gets the flu.
  • DOUBLE CHECK YOUR MEASUREMENTS: Please read the Measurements section of this site and double check your size info before you order. If you make a mistake, send us an email and we’ll get the order fixed. Unfortunately, we can’t help if you order the wrong size, only if we make it the wrong size.
  • WE GIVE ADVICE BUT WON’T QUESTION SELECTIONS: We don’t second-guess customer picks for leather, thread or paint color combinations; we make it exactly as ordered. However, we’re happy to provide our opinion if asked for advice.
  • KEEP IT SIMPLE: With stamping, we recommend keeping it pretty simple. A ton of stamping can look awkward and may not fit if space is limited. If it won’t fit, we’ll reach out to you. Smaller/shorter items fit less stamping.
  • LATIGO vs HARNESS: Most items are offered in two leather types: our standard harness and traditional latigo leather. Both are top-quality leathers but the traditional latigo is ultra-resistant to hard use. The downside is while we can stamp it, we can’t paint it. It just won’t adhere well. If you want ultimate utility, go latigo. If painting is important to you, go harness.
  • WRONG ADDRESSES & STOLEN PACKAGES: We can’t be responsible for incorrectly entered shipping addresses or stolen packages. Tracking is provided on every order. All orders are insured up to $100 and extra insurance is available on checkout if desired. We generally don’t recommend having your order shipped directly to your firehouse or another 3rd party location unless its a secured PO Box.
  • ORDER CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS: Once orders are In Progress, Shipped or Ready for Pickup, we can’t do cancellations or refunds. Orders $20+ that are cancelled will have the credit card processing fees deducted from the refund. All sales are final once the item moves forward out of the queue.
  • WE DON’T MARKET: You will not receive marketing emails or phone calls from us. We don’t like it, so we won’t do it to you. We don’t sell or pass on any of your personal info.
  • WARRANTY: If it breaks because we made a mistake, send it back to us and we’ll fix it. Just shoot us an email and let us know what’s going on. We don’t cover normal wear, abuse or cosmetic issues for obvious reasons.

Order Process

Our ordering process is straight forward. You’ll receive emails confirming your order, when your order is added to the wait queue, when your order is started by a leathersmith and when your order ships. If you do not receive an email after ordering, let us know so we can double check your email address.

Awaiting Processing – When you place your order, you will be emailed a copy and we will review the details.
Approved, Placed in Queue – Once we review your order, it will be marked approved and queued.
In Progress – When your order is up in the queue, one of our leathersmiths will start work on it.
Shipped or Ready for Pickup – When completed we will send you tracking or pickup info.

Product Details

Squad Belts are fast, robust, and lightweight utility belts which can be used to carry a hand-tool easily. They are made from a solid 1-1/2" strap of premium leather with steel or brass hardware and a 3" or 3.5" steel O-Ring. The O-Ring allows you to quickly stow and remove most striking tools (Axes, Pigs, IronFox, Maul, etc.) The design allows you to keep the tool close to your body and lets it move with you for climbing, crawling, or duck-walking. It is secured quickly with a standard-sized carabiner (you may provide one or we can offer one with the belt.) We also offer a steel XL carabiner.

Please keep in mind that Squad Belts are not Truck Belts. The Squad Belt gives you a better/easier alternative to stowing tools in your SCBA waist straps while Truck Belts are more of a sturdy platform for mounting multiple attachments. The Squad Belt can also be used as a hose strap if needed. Loop the belt around a charged line and pass the carabiner end through the ring then pull tight.

To use the Squad Belt, it is donned before putting on your SCBA. The belt should be worn snugly to ensure proper tool retention. The firefighter snaps the carabiner to the main ring to secure the belt and then pulls the ring to the side where their tool will be stowed. To stow a tool, pull the bottom of the ring away from the body, drop the tool handle in and release the ring. To remove the tool, simply push the head of the tool forward and pull it out of the ring. With minimal practice, the belt can be donned and a tool stowed in seconds.

We offer options to customize your Squad Belt. We can craft a quick-detach boxlight loop and/or add a forcible entry wedge holder to the front of the belt. Stamping is placed on the ring side of the belt facing forward.
